Most small business owners know that access to high quality business advice is often beyond the budget. If you’re a small business with an ABN and less than 20 employees then the good news is that you qualify for the Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) Digital Skills Program.
The program aims to help businesses grow via enhancing digital skills in areas such as websites and e-commerce, social media and digital marketing, using business software, data security and privacy. ASBAS Digital Skills Program is delivered via a combination of face to face workshops, interactive webinars and 1:1 customised mentoring and is available across Victoria for a one off cost of $55. In Victoria the program is presented by Melbourne Innovation Centre. Full details of the program and the registration process can be found here.
Having started two businesses in the last 10 years and being a small business operator myself, I know just how daunting small business ownership can be. The skills required to run a business are immense and digital skills such as knowing what makes a good website, building an email list, using cloud based software and social media marketing are all important considerations. The ASBAS program touches on all these skills and more.
I’m delighted to be presenting ASBAS workshops in Melbourne’s South East including at locations in the City of Whitehorse, City of Kingston and Maroondah City Council. In coming months I’ll be covering key social media topics such as:
Social media 101 – an introduction to social media marketing, most widely used social media platforms, creating your social media message and engaging with your customers.
Email marketing using Mailchimp – your email list is one of your most important business assets in this workshop we’ll cover building your list, creating beautiful looking emails, managing subscriptions and integrating Mailchimp with your website and social media platforms.
Instagram marketing – everyone’s favourite visually focused social media platform presents a marketing opportunity and in this session we’ll look at harnessing its powers for your business.
The full list of upcoming workshops can be found here.
Your ASBAS membership also includes 2 hours of 1:1 social media mentoring where you can explore digital topics in greater detail. The program has mentors in all areas of Victoria covering wide ranging business related digital skills. You can see the full mentor list and book here.
I am available to meet 1:1 with small business owners to work through their social media challenges and questions. Whether you’ve got specific digital marketing questions you wish to address or just want someone to look over your existing social media marketing efforts, I can help. I have meeting locations available across south east Melbourne and Gippsland or we can meet at another suitable location if you prefer. To book me for your ASBAS mentoring session, please click here.
